Making sound teacher judgments and moderating them

Overview of this module

This module is designed to support teachers when they are making and moderating their judgments of a student’s learning in a writing, reading or maths task or activity. This also includes moderation of the use of an assessment tool: for example, running records.
It looks at:

  • how judgments require interpretive evidence
  • what is appropriate and fair evidence of learning
  • examining valid, consistent and comparable teacher judgments
  • the moderation process.
