New Zealand's National Certificates of Educational Achievement (NCEA) are national qualifications for senior secondary school students.
It can be tricky to find exactly what you need on the NCEA webpages, so we hope to make it clearer for you. Remember to bookmark pages you will use often.
There are two key websites with information about NCEA assessment:
The NCEA on NZQA pages contain all of the information you will need for external assessments, plus some on internal assessments.
The NCEA on TKI pages contain important exemplar information on internal assessments.
As well as the key sites detailed above, the following websites may be of use:
These are teaching and learning guides for senior secondary subjects. The guides have been designed to help teachers create quality teaching and learning programmes. From the home page, select the subject relevant to you.
This site is designed for students working in NCEA maths, science, and English. The site provides NCEA information, practical advice for undertaking various standards, links to help with motivation and career advice, and online communication with tutors and other students.
"Find what you need to know, contact subject teachers, and get encouragement from other students."
A subsection of The New Zealand Curriculum Online, Secondary Middle Leaders offers an overview of Assessment.
