Expected levels of progress through the curriculum

The diagram and commentary in the document illustrated below have been compiled to clarify for teachers the links between curriculum levels and National Standards (archived). The diagram shows the progressions in the curriculum against expected year levels, and their correlation with the relevant National Standards (archived). The definitions of achievement are stated in the text below. This clarification can assist teachers in making their overall teacher judgments.

There are additional notes on reporting to parents and whānau, which may also help teachers in writing reports, particularly the mid-year reports when students are working towards an end-of-year level.
