What Next search tool

The What Next search tool will help you find assessment and planning resources to support teaching reading, writing and mathematics. Search to find resources that will help you identify or plan the next learning steps for your students, across curriculum levels, strands and sub-strands that you can select in the tool.

Using the What Next Keyword search.

Enter keyword/s in the search box on the right-hand side of this page. Search results display alphabetically by title.

  • Use these filters in the "Refine your search" column on the right-hand side of the page.
    • Learning area
    • Curriculum level
    • Strand
    • Sub-strand
    • Year level
    • Type of resource
  • Remove any unwanted applied filters by selecting [x].
  • Return to your current search result by selecting the back button of your browser.
  • Begin a new search by returning to the What Next search tool.

Using the curriculum area search

Select a curriculum area from one of the lists at the bottom of the page, and then select a level and strand/sub-strand from the grid displayed.

Column headings are the descriptors from the English pages of the NZ curriculum. Individual elements from the e-asTTle writing tool are in brackets. Users of the What Next tool should use the key word search to filter results to find individual element resources; for example, vocabulary or punctuation or grammar.
