Reporting to Boards: new SMS functionality

The Ministry has commissioned the student management system (SMS) providers to develop a system for capturing overall teacher judgments. This will allow school leaders to access and aggregate student progress and achievement information for their board.
Revision of the e-asTTle writing tool

NZCER has been contracted by the Ministry of Education to revise the e-asTTle writing tool. NZCER is working with the Australian Council for Educational Research (ACER) on this project. The revision will improve e-asTTle writing. The revision will include the writing of new tasks, revision of existing tasks, the collection and annotation of a wide range of exemplars, and the development of a new marking rubric. The assessment tool will cover writing in Years 1-10. New and revised assessment items have been trialled in schools.
